This home is currently being used as the new Show Home for the Kinvena 45'. Details of when the programme will be aired on BBC will be posted in due course showing the usual 'before' and 'after' shots, together with photographs taken during the course of the refurbishment. PHOTOGRAPHERS ON THE ELMS Mr Evans, one of the residents on The Elms has kindly forwarded a couple of his pictures taken during our recent wintery weather.... One of The Elms residents, Mr Watson, recently sent off a photograph to BBC Look North. We are sure you will have seen local photographs displayed prior to the local weather forecast. Mr Watson was pleased to tell us that the photograph below was shown in October.

The residents have been asked to donate any interesting photographs of wildlife that they have taken on the park. Even at this early stage, we have received a number of excellent shots, a few of which we have printed below. Swan by Mr Davis Baby Hedgehog by Mr Tandy Large Tortoiseshell by Mr Youster

Kinvena held another Prize Draw which all visitors over the two days were entered into to win a Fortnum & Mason Hamper. This year, the winner was Mrs Willey who lives near Gainsborough. Mrs Willey was very pleased to win the hamper and came to collect her prize from The Elms, presented by Ann Fillingham. We are sure that she will enjoy the contents. Mrs Edwina Willey - winner of The Open Weekend Prize Draw in September 2009 SEPTEMBER 2008 OPEN WEEKEND AT THE ELMS RETIREMENT PARK The Open Weekend held on 13 and 14 September was yet again a resounding success with some 69 sets of visitors coming to The Elms over the two day period. Kinvena entered all the visitors into a Prize Draw to win a Fortnum & Mason Hamper which was drawn on Monday 15 September. The winners were Mr and Mrs Boxell from North Hykeham, near Lincoln. Mr and Mrs Boxell called to The Elms to collect their prize, presented by Ann Fillingham.
Mr and Mrs Boxell - winners of the Open Weekend Prize Draw Mr and Mrs Boxell were pleased to receive their prize and commented that as Captain of the Seniors at his local Golf Club, that Mr and Mrs Boxell had been involved in running raffles for some years now - but had never won a prize themselves. We hope that they enjoy the contents of their hamper. Mr Boxell was a Physical Education Officer in the RAF for some 40 years. He was awarded an B.E.M. in 1963 whilst he was based at Cramwell and received an M.B.E. in 1984. Mr Boxell has had a very sport led life including activities such as running in the very first London marathon; climbing Ben Nevis some 8 times; numerously walking 100 miles in under 24 hours; competing in serveral Regatas on the River Thames; ski-ing around the castles in Bavaria to name but a few....and still enjoys a round of golf. Mr and Mrs Boxell will be celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary next year...at this time they 'may' be residents of The Elms. It was a GREAT pleasure to meet Mr and Mrs Boxell, and Ann and all the members of the Kinch family and staff at Kinvena wish them both all the very best for the future. OPEN WEEKEND HELD ON 31 MAY AND 1 JUNE 2008 The Kinch family and staff wish to say a big "thank you" to all those who visited The Elms at their Open Weekend on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June - some of whom came both days! It was a resounding success with some 80 visitors over the two day period. It was so rewarding to the family to hear comments such as " beautifully maintained park;what a wonderful setting in rural Lincolnshire; lovely walks along the canal bank; how nice to view all the park homes for sale;" to name but a few. Many visitors said how they also found the residents of The Elms that they met along the way, to be so friendly and helpful. And that talking to people who already live on The Elms, is the best way to learn about 'life at the Elms' and the fact that park home living may be the way forward for them. So we would also like to say a big "thank you" from the family to all the residents for their continued support. THE LINCOLNSHIRE SHOW 2008 - 18th and 19th JUNE We attended our first Lincolnshire Show with a new Kinvena 46' x 15' 9". This home is now sited on pitch number 2 Woodland Court which is a small cul-de-sac located near the top of the park. It is an exclusive cul-de-sac for just seven properties. The home is for sale for £130,000.00 and benefits from integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, fully tiled bathroom and georgian style doors between the lounge and dining area. We were absolutely amazed by the amount of interest our presence at the show created. Many of the visitors were not aware of our Park or the lifestyle The Elms can provide people in their semi or full retirement. Two couples have since come to view our park - one of which is now planning a move to The Elms.
Resident Celebrates his 65th Birthday in StyleMike Pritchard of Maple Avenue celebrated his 65th birthday earlier this year. His wife Betty and four of their very good friends decided the ideal way to mark this occasion was to have a holiday in Spain together. What a treat!!
